Natural imperfections are to be expected in the wood, such as wood grains, dents, knots, and any other characteristics of natural wood formations, adding distinctive texture. Artisans work with the natural wood elements to enhance the rustic feel of these finishes by using an antiquing process of hand distressing with chains, wormholes, and other tools to mimic a natural worn piece of furniture. All painted finishes will patina over time and wood tones will vary.
