The Spados Statue reduces a face to its essentials: a shield-shaped head tapering to a narrow chin, marked only by a slender vertical nose and a short horizontal mouth. Hand-cast in metal and finished in gold leaf, its granular surface lets hints of a darker ground show through, giving a Cycladic form the quiet glow of a gilded artifact.

The face rests on its tapered point atop a tall block of polished white Carrara marble, with warm gold set against cool, veined stone. A felted bottom protects the surface below. On a mantel in the living room, a bookshelf in the study, or a side table in the bedroom, the Spados Statue adds a note of burnished light to a collected arrangement.
